These are piston type, pressure powered, normally open, heavy duty spring return, cast iron valves normally used on low temperature applications to positively close suction lines and both liquid legs and gas returns on flooded evaporators. Nominal pressure drop on suction lines. Power close can overcome low temperature sticking caused by vicsous oil.
