R-403B:
Used to replace R-13B1 in single stage, lower evaporator temperature systems. With properties more similar to R-502 than R-13B1, the evaporator will operate in a vacuum when the low side temperature drops below -55°F. Existing R-13B1 systems that are retrofitted to R-403B will need the capillary tube replaced with a longer/more restrictive size. Similar lubricants can be used for R-403B, with any additives the manufacturer may recommend.
