A rigid board composed of resin-bonded glass fibers and a reinforced foil laminate air barrier/vapor retarder facing applied to the outside surface. It can be fabricated into rectangular or multi-sided duct sections for use in both residential and commercial heating, ventilating, and air conditioning duct systems. The boards come standard with factory-molded male and female shiplap edges to ensure tight and strong fabricated transverse joints. The outside reinforced foil-laminate air barrier extends over the full width of the male shiplap to serve as a stapling flap for strength and ease of installation. Available in El ratings (Flexural Rigidity) of 475 and 800.
E1475TG is the same material with a facing applied to the inner surface to isolate the glass fibers from the airstream, allowing higher air velocities (up to 5,000 fpm) and easier cleaning, and more resistance to installation damage.
